Last weekend we celebrated Hailey’s birthday. She actually turned 6 on Dec. 3rd but that is an almost impossible time to have a birthday party at our house. As you may know my wife and I have a Jewelry store in downtown Apex and from Nov. 1st. through the new year we are extremely busy. There are virtually no days off and we have extended hours. So we opt to give Hailey a party sometime in January. This year we went bowling for something different. There were 13 little giggling, screaming, hyper girls all under the age of 7 at the party. Ginny and I basically did “crowd control” for two hours. When the party was nearly over I wanted to get a picture of the kids that were still there. When I got home I noticed that Hailey looked like she was standing on tip-toes, she was not. I never realized just how much taller she was than the other kids in her class. She looks to be a head taller than everyone else. I guess the height gene skipped over me. I’m only around 5′ 10″ but my father was around 6′6″ tall. I got the crappy genes from my mom’s side of the family, ( loud mouth, big butt and bad temper). I did not hit the gene pool lottery.
